No. 50507, with one cylinder (no. 28043 of the original three) playing six airs including four overtures ("Zampa", "Guillaume Tell", "Semiramis" and "La Fille de Madame Angot"), Gamme no. 3346, with two combs of 39 teeth each and central comb of 44 teeth (all three complete) stamped "Nicole Frères", governor-cock stamped "NF" in an oval, zither attachment (detached), tune-sheet and book-matched burr-walnut-veneered case with ornamental handles, wd. 29 ½ in. (72,5 cm), cylinder 15 in. (38 cm), approx. 14 mainly bass tips and seven teeth replaced, some dampers need adjustment. – The changing-mechanism consists of a sprung locking arbour which engages with a hole in the left-hand end-cap of the cylinder. When the arbour is drawn back, the cylinder can be lifted from the mechanism (with care) using a steel knob on the left. Caution is required as there is no corresponding knob or other satisfactory means of supporting the right-hand end of the cylinder. To accommodate this design, the movement is mounted right-to-left in the case and features a start/stop knob and change/repeat wheel in place of the customary levers. An unusual design.
