Pair of French 7 ?-Inch Table Globes by Delamarche, c. 1834

Terrestrial and celestial globes, made up of twelve colored gores and two polar calottes, each feature wooden meridian circles covered with paper, topped with a dial and a pointer. The globes are mounted on elegant stands in the Delamarche style, with a paper-covered horizon and four quadrant supports, as well as an ebonised, baluster-shaped turned wooden column and a plinth. – Earth globe with hand-colored outlines, inscribed in the cartouche: "Globe Terrestre Dressé par Fr. Delamarche 1834" and on the other side "A Paris, Chez l'Auteur Ingénieur Mécanicien, Rue du Jardinet No. 13". – Celestial globe marked "Delamarche Paris" and featuring a small list of star magnitudes. – In good original condition with slight age-related wear. – Height 15 ? in. each.
